At the Carquinez Regional Environmental Education Center (CREEC), we believe that environmental education should be hands‑on, community‑powered, and rooted in real places. Our projects bring people together to restore habitat, support wildlife, and build a healthier, more resilient Carquinez region.
From pollinator gardens to habitat restoration, from youth programs to public education initiatives, each project is designed to inspire learning, strengthen community connections, and make a lasting ecological impact.
CREEC leads these projects in collaboration with local residents, schools, nonprofits, and volunteers who share our commitment to caring for the land. Whether you’re a homeowner, a student, a community group, or simply someone who loves nature, there’s a place for you in this work.
Below, you’ll find links to our current and upcoming projects.

Carquinez Middle School’s garden is a community‑built outdoor learning space where students explore nature, practice hands‑on science, and care for a thriving mix of native and edible plants right in the heart of Crockett.
The Carquinez Pollinator Pathway is a community‑powered initiative led by CREEC to create connected native habitats—ranging from small frontyard patches to large restoration sites—that support bees, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators across the Carquinez region.
