For the 2026 spring semester we are hosting a 12-week Junior Climate Corps afterschool program for middle school-aged students!
What We'll Explore
Students will participate in hands-on projects and field studies that deepen their understanding of climate action, urban greening, California native plants, ecology, and all there is to know how to be a steward of the land we live on!
Logistics
Dates: Every Wednesday from March 4th to May 20th (except for Spring Break on April 8th)
March: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
April: 1st, 15th, 22nd, 29th
May: 6th, 13th, 20th
Time: Students will check-in with a CREEC team member at the Carquinez Middle School Garden after the final bell and will walk as a group down to CREEC.
Parent pick-up is between 3:00pm and 4:00pm.

Starting up in March, we're bringing back our High School Vocational Program - the P.L.A.N.T. Academy! (Professional Landscaping, Arborist, and Naturalist Training Academy)
What We'll Learn
Academy trainees will gain essential skills in landscaping and tree care, plant identification, habitat restoration, and field research.
We will experience the challenges and rewards of working outdoors through hands-on training. Our goal is to provide both education and experience to empower students to choose sustainable careers in environmental fields.

Dates: Sundays from March 8th to May 10th
(NO PROGRAMMING on April 5th and 12th, for Spring Break and Easter)

Time: Trainees are expected to arrive on site at CREEC by 10:00am and stay until 2:00pm. Lunch is provided!

Join us at CREEC for our Saturday Docent Program, running from March to October, where skilled docents engage visitors every Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM. This program offers a fantastic opportunity for families to explore the beauty of our property while participating in fun and educational children’s activities. The docents are knowledgeable about the local environment and can lead guided tours, sharing fascinating insights into the flora and fauna of the area. Whether your child is discovering nature through hands-on learning or families are enjoying a guided adventure, the Saturday Docent Program fosters a love for the outdoors and a deeper understanding of our natural world.
